Foreword

     This isn’t really ABOUT US, it’s about you, our present and future customer and guests. In India, it is the tradition that the guest is the God. It is a sweet tradition and one we like to keep. And what better way to please the guest than to feed them amazing cuisine, and give the best of service. Spicy Bella was born from many years of restaurant experience and very hard work. We began as a small food shop, and then created our first restaurant Hasuka Israeli in Pune. Our Owner, Chef, and Dad; Mr. Kamalesh Varma was influenced in his early years while a member of the Osho Ashram; cooking and hosting for many travelers from around the globe and even some Indian celebrities. Originally a Jewelry designer, Kamal was often complimented on his food creations, hospitality, and even the design and decor of the tables set for meals. You might say the journey toward Spicy Bella was a ‘Happy Accident’.

      After Hasuka Israeli did so well, Kamal vowed to travel and be the “Ambassador for Indian Cuisine”, as he said to his friends. Kamal’s brother, Nilesh has been indispensable in the building of our business and is a Master Chef at Spicy Bella. The next step toward the success that is today Spicy Bella was a move to the beautiful and historic Goa, India; and opening the highly acclaimed Siona World Kitchen, which was featured by Lonely Planet Guide. Our menu at Siona offered everything from Pizza and Pasta to the tastiest Kebabs inspired by the Mughal Empire; and of course, Goan seafood. Beginning at Siona World Kitchen it was with supreme joy that we began teaching Indian Cuisine to travelers from every walk of life. We also taught them about ‘Gurudakshina’ and asked that they in turn teach others about this wonderful aromatic and spicy food. To date we have taught 1,491 people from...everywhere! We still receive requests for spices and classes from students of students; and that makes us proud. We have received many great reviews for Spicy Bella and much praise, but the friends who return year after year to have a meal with us, that is the highest praise.

      Spicy Bella today is a like a butterfly, we are changing into something more than we were, while keeping the essential spirit of our birth. We are doing some pretty cool (we think) remodeling to create a beautiful Lounge theme area, while keeping the upper quiet dining area and outside garden style seating. Very soon, we begin our special theme nights, including music and even a Short Indie Film night. We have available to us some really talented artistes here in Goa, and we want to showcase them for you. We have to toot our horn a little and say, we have hosted some of the happiest and most successful parties for our guests; it is our supreme pleasure to do so. Come and have a visit with us, eat great food, have a party, a high class corporate meeting, take a class, chill out with some exotic Cocktails and fun Mocktails, listen to some great music, and maybe even converse about the meaning of life with some new friends.
